Annual scholarship created by Georgianne and Jim Parshall in loving memory of Georgianne’s aunt, Martha Byrne Brokaw. Martha Helen received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana University, taught business classes at Princeton High School for over forty years, and served as co-owner and chief financial officer of Byrne Motors.

Eligibility Criteria

Girls who are graduating seniors of Princeton Community High School planning to attend or current female college students attending an accredited college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or other business-related field of study. In the event there are no eligible female applicants, applications from male students who meet remaining criteria may be considered.

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on academic achievement with a passion for learning as demonstrated by GPA and academic awards and honors, compassion to help others as demonstrated through volunteer service to school and/or the community, and willingness to step out and lead as demonstrated through extra-curricular, community, or work activities.

Supplemental Requirements

A short personal statement (500 words or less) describing how the applicant’s current career goals and plans have been shaped by their talents, service, extra-curricular, and leadership activities.
