Eligibility Criteria

Graduating high school seniors who have successfully completed coursework and demonstrated outstanding promise in the shop/welding vocational pro­grams of Gibson Southern High School. Applicants must be planning to pursue post-secondary education in voca­tional arts at any accredited college or university.

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on applicant’s skills and abilities, recommendations from vocational teachers, academic performance, and the required essay.

Supplemental Requirements

Essay: Statement of Aspirations and Educational Goals (not to exceed four typewritten, double-spaced pages) describing the benefits the applicant has received from vocational education and his or her plans for further education or training.
Letter of Recom­mendation from one or more of applicant’s vocational teachers.
Official grade transcript.
