The Harriet and Don Neill “Perry County Values” Scholarship

Annual scholarship established by Harriet and Don Neill to help graduating seniors from Perry Central High School further their education. Eligibility Criteria Graduating seniors of Perry Central High School with a cumulative grade point average in the range of 2.5 – 3.4 (on a 4.0 scale) planning to attend an accredited educational institution for vocational or technical training or to obtain a 2- or 4-year undergraduate degree. Selection Criteria Selection will be based on financial need, academic performance, good moral character, documented history of giving back to the community (e.g. involvement with family, environmental causes, church, school, local community activities), and clearly defined educational and life goals based on supplemental documents. Supplemental Requirements Essay (2,500 – 5,000 characters) addressing the following: What are your educational and life goals? How will this scholarship award enable you to obtain the education necessary to achieve these goals and develop into a positive contributor to society? Letter of recommendation from an individual unrelated to the applicant and who is not a community foundation board member but who can attest to applicant’s character and describe the contributions he/she has made in Perry County. Examples of the types of contributions include, but are not limited to, family, church, school, environment, and community activities. Completion of the FAFSA. Official grade transcript.
