David L. Cosby Memorial Scholarship (Outside Application)
Annual scholarship created to honor the legacy of David Cosby and his work supporting the youth of the greater Garvin park area.
Eligibility Criteria
North Youth Baseball Participants who are 12 years old at the time of application and have played in the league at Garvin Park for at least four previous years.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on the applicant’s demonstration of good sportsmanship, good citizenship (i.e. has respect for others and their property, is helpful and considerate, works hard, is well-mannered, and is law-abiding), above average academic performance, number of years participation in the North Youth Baseball, and the number of years as a resident of a neighborhood which surrounds Garvin Park. Two (2) student player recipients will be awarded approximately a $1,000 scholarship upon high school graduation to attend a two (2) or four (4) year college/university.
