What started with a $5M gift has grown to over $10M while granting $6.3M since the fund’s inception, making the total philanthropic impact of the Evansville Endowment Fund over $16M.
Evansville Endowment Fund grants are specifically designated for capital projects. When the Evansville Endowment Fund was established, it allocated sixty percent (60%) of grantmaking to benefit the 4th and 6th wards of the City of Evansville. These wards also have representation on the Evansville Endowment Fund’s board.

The Evansville Endowment Fund makes annual grants to charitable organizations serving the City of Evansville. During our last fiscal year, the Fund granted $560K to 21 organizations. Learn more about our grants below.
Evansville Endowment Fund Grant Program
The Evansville Endowment Fund’s grant cycle runs from May through October each year. Funding requests are accepted only during our grant cycle. Requests submitted after the stated deadline will not be considered.
Board of Directors
The Evansville Endowment Fund's board of directors is responsible for governance and grantmaking decisions. The Community Foundation provides management and administrative expertise and services, so board members can focus on making a difference in Evansville through effective grantmaking.

Message from the Board President
The Evansville Endowment Fund has been serving the Evansville community for the past 30 years, providing funding to nonprofits for a variety of projects. In fiscal year 2025, we were able to give $560,000 to 21 charitable organizations. Projects range from construction and renovations to neighborhood revitalization.
We have been able to provide funding to many local nonprofits that focus on issues such as affordable housing, youth aging out of the foster system, museum upgrades, and many other important missions. I would recommend that all nonprofits see if they have projects that may qualify for our annual grant cycle.
The Community Foundation has been amazing to work with. We have been able to establish an online process for our annual grant cycle. The technology they have access to makes the grant writing and selection process easy for both nonprofits and the grant selection committee. If you are interested in starting an endowment or learning more about smart ways to give, the Community Foundation is a great place to start. I have been on the board for a few years, and they have made the process enjoyable and fun!
