Arts Council of Gibson County Scholarship
Annual scholarship created by the Arts Council of Gibson County to benefit graduating seniors of Gibson County high schools pursuing advanced education in the fields of art, drama, or music. From 1991 to 2007, the Arts Council of Gibson County fulfilled its mission of encouraging, assisting, coordinating, and promoting cultural arts activities in Gibson County by providing ”Informances” and clinics for all Gibson County students in grades K-12.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be a graduating senior from any Gibson County high school with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) planning to pursue a two- or four-year degree at any accredited college or university in the field of art, drama, or music.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on all sections of the application form and on the supplemental document(s). Financial need is not a requirement but may be considered in the selection process.
Supplemental Requirements
Essay: Statement of Aspirations and Educational Goals (not to exceed two typewritten double-spaced pages.)
Completion of the FAFSA.
Two letters of recommendation in support of applicant’s skills, abilities, and motivation related to his or her chosen field of undergraduate study. One letter should be from a teacher or other school personnel, and the other letter from someone unrelated to the applicant and not a Community Foundation board member.
