Carran Family Scholarship
An annual scholarship established by Deborah Carran to assist Posey County high school students in pursuing an education in creative careers, such as but not limited to animator, web designer, graphic designer, fashion, music, fine arts, or performing arts.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduating seniors of any Posey County high school with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale) or graduates within the last five years planning to further their education in creative arts at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on financial need as evidenced by the FAFSA SAR score and the required essay. Preference will be given to applicants who are the first in their family to pursue post-secondary education.
Supplemental Requirements
Essay (500 words or less) responding to the following prompt, “Describe the career path you have selected, what led you to this career path, and how this scholarship will help you pursue this career.”
Letter of recommendation from someone in the creative field.
Completion of the FAFSA and submission of the Student Aid Report
