Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard Leadership Award
Annual award established by Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard to recognize a graduating senior from Harrison High School, in Evansville, Indiana. The award will honor a student who demonstrates the greatest potential for leadership in public affairs and contributions to the community.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduating seniors of Harrison High School in Evansville, Indiana, who demonstrate the greatest potential for leadership in public affairs and contributions to the community.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on the following:
Academic Success – 10%
Extracurricular activities – 20%
Community Involvement – 20%
Essay – 35%
Letter of recommendation reflecting student’s leadership potential – 15%
Supplemental Requirements
Essay describing what leadership means to you, what you have done to increase your leadership skills/potential, and how you foresee your role in the community as an adult (not to exceed two typewritten, double-spaced pages).
One letter of recommendation from a teacher or other school official in support of the student’s potential for leadership in public affairs.
Official grade transcript.
