Derek Ray Arvin Memorial Scholarship
Annual scholarship established by the families of Derek Ray Arvin to benefit a Washington High School graduating senior.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduating seniors of Washington High School with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale). Applicants must be an active member of a house of worship, a member of at least one varsity level IHSAA sport, and active in at least one extracurricular activity other than sports (e.g. Beta Club, Student Council, French Club, etc.).
Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on financial need, level of athletic involvement and ability, and the required essay.
Supplemental Requirements
Essay describing the student’s goals and aspirations.
Letter of recommendation from a school official describing applicant’s academic abilities, personal qualities, and attributes.
Official grade transcript.
