Annual scholarship created by the Mt. Vernon Kiwanis Club in honor of Phil Ray for his many contributions and service to Kiwanis, the Metropolitan School District of Mt. Vernon, the students and staff of West Elementary School, and the community of Mt. Vernon.

Eligibility Criteria

Graduating seniors of Mt. Vernon High School who have been members of the Mt. Vernon High School Key Club for a minimum of one year and who are pursuing post-secondary education at a college, university or technical school. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in academic achievement, initiative, dependability, leadership, and service to the Mt. Vernon High School Key Club and to the community.

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on all sections of the application form and on the supplemental document(s).

Supplemental Requirements

Essay: Statement of Aspirations and Educational Goals (not to exceed two typewritten, double-spaced pages).
Official grade transcript.
