Annual scholarship created in 2010 by parents of students who were awarded the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

Graduating high school seniors who have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale), who are residents of Vanderburgh County, and who are planning to pursue post-secondary education at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in Indiana. The recipient of the Legacy Scholarship must be a first-generation college student whose parents (the applicant’s biological parents, adoptive parents, or legal guardians) have not attained a college degree (associate degree or higher).

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on the applicant’s school activities and work history, motivation to attain personal goals, and difficulty of the applicant’s high school curriculum.

Supplemental Requirements

Essay describing aspirations and educational goals (not to exceed two typewritten, double-spaced pages).
Official grade transcript.
